Our purpose

At Public we work hard everyday to inspire people to enjoy life.

We bring together people that share with us the same passion for culture and entertainment, the latest technology products and contemporary lifestyle choices, to create memorable experiences that bring joy.

Through our sustainability commitments we aim to empower communities by supporting equal access to knowledge and the digital economy, as well as to take action for a greener planet.

Green Retail

We adhere to the principles of the circular economy and we partner with our customers, encouraging them to recycle, as well as to reduce waste through superior advise and repair services and the sale of refurbished devices.

We are targeting zero waste, through additional recycling streams and zero-waste initiatives, while we are also working to introduce new packaging and offer reusable packaging alternatives to customers. We are also reducing paper consumption in our stores, as well as transitioning to the use of renewable energy sources in the majority of our stores.

Digital Economy

We support equal access in the digital economy for everyone, with products and services for digital work, e-business and digital education. We also partner with non-profits to provide technology equipment to schools in unprivileged or remote communities to enable student and teacher access to digital education.

Community Enablement

We foster communities of people with common interests and ideas through initiatives such as Public Events and Public Events Go Social, Book Friends and Book Awards. We also operate as a community hub for access to culture and other learning activities, while we mobilize our people as part of company volunteerism days.
