To cement the partnership, Public acquires 50% of iRepair
Public Group today announced a strategic partnership with iRepair, the leader in electronics repair in Greece.
Over the coming three years, this innovative partnership will bring the most comprehensive and fast services in consumer electronics’ repair to all Public stores, in Greece and Cyprus.
To underline its commitment to the partnership, Public will acquire a 50% interest in iRepair.
Chris Humbert, Founder and majority owner of iRepair will remain CEO and majority shareholder in the new venture to lead its further growth.
The implementation of the Public-iRepair strategic partnership has begun with the first four iRepair service points already in operation within the Public stores at The Mall Athens, Glyfada, Syntagma and Piraeus. Additional iRepair service points will be opened in Greece and Cyprus in 2022 and 2023, such that a comprehensive after-sales support team will be in operation across 100+ physical locations employing 350 specialized technicians by the end of 2024.
Customers visiting iRepair service points within Public stores will now have access to a comprehensive range of technical support and repair services for all their technology devices, such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktops, thus complementing the services currently offered by Public, with some of the most popular customer requests, such as screen repairs or battery replacements, among other.
Key competitive advantages of the new services include customer convenience, immediate repair and high service quality, guaranteed by the specialized team of iRepair. Customers visiting the Public store in Syntagma can enjoy the convenience of speedy screen repair or battery replacement, while enjoying their shopping within the store or a coffee at the Public café.
As iRepair technicians are among the very few in Greece and Cyprus officially certified by Apple to undertake iPhone, iPad, iMac and MacBook device repairs, with authentic parts, the partnership will extend customers’ access to the manufacturer’s guarantee.
Gradually, the iRepair service points within Public stores will incorporate and bring additional innovative services to the market.
“Our investment into iRepair shows our commitment to develop strong partnerships that deliver unique benefits to our customers. We are now bringing iRepair’s quality services to Public stores – with immediate device repairs – because we want to offer the most comprehensive and reliable after-sales support to our customers. With Chris, we share the same customer service principles of offering innovative and high-quality services to build long-lasting and trusted relationships”, said Robby Bourlas, CEO of Public Group.
“iRepair has proven to be the most efficient and effective company in electronics’ repairs in Greece, while also gaining recognition as a pioneer not only in repairs, but also in customer service. Throughout the years, we have been successful in anticipating customers’ needs and in evolving our business model. The partnership between iRepair and Public Group, the leader in Greece’s electronics’ retailing market, will contribute to the creation of a fully operational and innovative services experience. This partnership marks a new era, based on our shared passion and philosophy of emphasis on excellent customer services” said Chris Humbert, founder and CEO of iRepair.
